31 Candles

7 September – 4 November 2017

We are excited to present the first UK institutional solo show by artist Jessi Reaves (b. 1986). Commissioned by Stanley Picker Gallery, this new body of work is conceived site-specifically for Dorich House Museum, the Gallery’s partner venue and former studio home of the Russian sculptor, artist and designer Dora Gordine and her husband the Hon. Richard Hare, a scholar of Russian art and literature. Reaves’ exhibition will also include a selection of new works developed in collaboration with artist Bradley Kronz (b. 1986), turning itself into a quasi-two person show authored as ‘Jessi Reaves featuring Bradley Kronz & Jessi Reaves (Waiting for Boots).’ Read more

Upcoming: P!CKER

Elaine Lustig Cohen and Céline Condorelli

28 September 2017 – 27 January 2018

In Autumn 2017, Stanley Picker Gallery presents P!CKER, a new project in collaboration with P!, the New York gallery and ‘Mom-and-Pop-Kunsthalle’ founded by designer, curator, editor, and pedagogue Prem Krishnamurthy. The exhibition history of P!, which existed from 2012–2017, provides a lens through which to ask critical questions around the current state of art and design curating (as well as art-, design-, and exhibition-making). The exhibition framework takes the form of a ‘meta-exhibition’ around the idea of multifaceted practice, observed through the work of two polymathic practitioners of different generations, Elaine Lustig Cohen and Céline Condorelli. Read more
