Summer Jazz Weekenders with Harry Christelis and Jazz FM

12 - 14 & 19 - 20 Aug 17

Two bands a day for four days of music over two weekends in a beautiful outdoor amphitheatre nestled in Peninsula Gardens.

 

Summer Jazz Weekenders will feature curated live music by Harry Christelis. The weekenders feature lots of outdoor fun for kids and adults alike. Ping Pong with Pongathon, contemporary circus performances and workshops by Upswing, a play and arts space for families by MOTHERBRUNCH and artist workshops using beeswax and flowers with Honeyscribe. There will be streetfood and you can order picnic hampers by Craft London.

Unleash your inner acrobat with our friends at Upswing. Kids 7+ can take part in Upswing’s Circus Flavours where high energy circus acts perform short sets of aerial and acro-balance. The audience are then invited to ‘have a go’ in free, open workshops.

Drops, chops and volleys. Practise your ping pong tricks and challenges with the Pongathon masters on our new tables designed by artist Camille Walala!

Follow the trail to Honeyscribe, Amy Shelton who will be working from the garden shed to chart the floral sources available to bees and create a temporary herbarium studio where she will press and preserve samples of the plants she finds growing in the locale. Create a beeswax coated drawing to take home inspired by the bees and flowers. Visitors to the studio shed will be able to make drawings, explore the qualities of honey and beeswax and see an artist at work.

Craft are offering a fabulous picnic lunch served from their café, a stone’s throw from Peninsula Garden. Order on a first come first served basis at the Festival.
