Nicole Caruth is a writer, curator and the Artistic Director of McColl Center for Art + Innovation. Previously a leader at The Union for Contemporary Art, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts and the Brooklyn Museum, Nicole's recent curatorial projects include The Grace Jones Project at the Museum of the African Diaspora and Power of People, Power of Place by Fallen Fruit.

Gary Steuer is the President + CEO of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Colorado's leading foundation advancing arts and inspiring creative leadership in Denver. Previously the Chief Cultural Officer for the City of Philadelphia and President of New York Programs for Arts and Business Council, Gary serves on the boards of Clyfford Still Museum and Grantmakers in the Arts.

Paul Rucker is a visual artist, musician, and composer who uses images + sound to render powerful reflections on racial injustice in America. His awards include Creative Capital, Joan Mitchell Painters & Sculptors Grant, Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship, MacDowell Colony Fellowship and the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation research fellowship.

Apply for a Fellowship!

You still have time to apply for a fellowship as part of this year's conference!

  • 2017 Alliance's Diversity + Leadership Fellows program is a year-long experience aimed at celebrating and supporting the careers of emerging residency practitioners of color and emerging residency practitioners with disabilities. Six fellowships will be awarded in 2017 and will include travel/registration for the 2017 Conference. [ apply ]

  • State arts councils are offering scholarships and some deadlines are coming up fast! Apply for scholarships in Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota and Wyoming! Submit your application by July 31st! [ apply ]

  • Register before the early-bird deadline on August 18 to save $75 off each order!

  • Become an AAC member and save an additional $75 per person.
